By Winter 2011, each school taking part in our second cohort will have:

Increased capacity to build community alliances, analyse and build power, negotiate and effect change. Quantitative evidence showing whole-school delivery on the duty to promote community cohesion At least one compelling learning experience (scheme of learning) for full cohorts of students; increasing motivation and engagement to learn and participate in school life Between 2 and 10 strong community allies - institutions such as faith groups, youth groups, other schools (and others) who collaborate with your school to improve both students' learning and the local community High profile publicity in educational and regional media - at least 2

  press articles and coverage on either television or radio

Greater parental/community engagement & inclusion within the school: at least 10 new parents regularly contributing to take the

  school forward

Stronger relationships with 2-3 partner schools from your borough Better links to local power networks and direct relationships with

  key players in local government and local public service bodies 

  such as the police
